Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Accredited Law Enforcement qualification at an accredited institution (Peace Officer Certificate).
  • 5-8 years, of which 2 - 3 years must be supervisory experience.
  • Valid Code EB driver's license.
  • Firearm Proficiency Certificate.
  • No criminal record.
  • Good human relations, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • High level of responsibility and ability to give attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to handle conflict.
  •  Must be fit and healthy to carry out duties.
  • Good eyesight, hearing and speech ability

Duties:

  • Job purpose: Assist the immediate superior to supervise the Law Enforcement Section through the planning and control of operational functionality and its outcomes. To ensure command and control, discipline is maintained on a functional level in his capacity as a shift supervisor. Coordinate and control the implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting sequences of outcomes associated with plans and programmes designed to accomplish key service delivery objectives with respect to Law Enforcement. Coordinate operations in conjunction with the immediate superior that is associated with the enforcement of Laws and municipal by-laws. ; Performs activities /tasks relating to those of a Peace Officer to enforce municipal regulations.
  • Plans and schedules law enforcement operations in collaboration with the immediate superior
  • Monitors and controls procedural applications associated with the operations and functionality of law enforcement
  • Coordinates and monitors sequences associated with the implementation and enforcement of municipal by-laws
  • Co-ordinates and controls key dimensions and requirements associated with the delivery of awareness and educational programmes on   law enforcement to the community in collaboration with   the immediate superior
  • Co-ordinates tasks/activities associated with controlling subordinate personnel performance, productivity, and discipline
  • Disseminates information on outcomes, current developments, problems, and constraints, and/or presents educational material on law enforcement

Duties:

  • Strategic Management Tasks and Decisions by communicating the vision and mission of the Section to subordinate personnel and devising and implementing new operating and functional policies enforced in the area of jurisdiction
  • Forward Planning by identifying and defining the immediate, short, and long-term objectives/plan associated with the provision and maintenance of the Information Technology Architecture and Operating Infrastructure and keep abreast of technological developments in the   Information Technology and Communications environment with specific emphasis on improving networking, accessibility, and performance of systems, applications, and tools.
  • Procedures, Systems, and Controls by managing the implementation of specific procedures, systems, and controls to guide operational requirements, user interface, and system applications, and evaluating and reviewing the ICT Strategy and Master Systems Plan.
  • Legal and Statutory Requirements by managing and monitoring the implementation of procedures and systems associated with legal and statutory requirements and managing and keeping the operational activities of the Division ICT in a safe and operational state.
  • Compliance Management by managing and enforcing compliance with regulatory codes in the execution of operational sequences with specific claims.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity by formulating and implementing the ICT disaster recovery plan (DRP) and ensuring it is operational and reviewing and updating the DRP regularly with regard to changing circumstances.
  • Technology, Communication, Systems, and Data Research by prioritizing future Information Technology needs with regard to municipal objectives and evaluating and analyzing systems and making recommendations to Management and Council to ensure that informed decisions may be taken.
  • Budgetary Financial Management and Control by calculating and projecting budgetary requirements and financial implications of projects and operational activities. And compile capital expenditure requirements and programs and submit them to the immediate superior for inclusion in estimations.
  • Tender Management by managing, compiling, and approving tender documentation, specifications, tender conditions, designs, drawings, schedules of quantities, and determining policy on infrastructure provision-related matters, and preparing policy documents for approval by Council.
  • Contract and Project management by managing the formulation of specific contracts, tender documents, and controlling contractual obligations, and guiding, drafting, adjudicating, and reporting on processes with regard to contracts and tenders.
  • Relationship Management and Communication by disseminating functional and operational information on the immediate, short, and long-term objectives and current developments, problems, and constraints, and coordinating the set-up and implementation of Forums to serve as an avenue to facilitate functional information and receive comments.
  • Personnel Management by monitoring the attendance, leave, and operational readiness of personnel in die Section and scheduling, distributing, and verifying the daily responsibilities of personnel.
  • Performance Management by directly controlling the key performance indicators and outcomes of personnel within the ICT Section, by managing the outsourcing of components of legal work by referring it to external service providers.
  • Operational Management by Direct control of the professional, technical, and operational outcomes related to the provision of support and quality service delivery, evaluating the adequacy of end-user support structures, and attending to the implementation of corrective measures to address deviations from norm in respect of response time.
  • Administration and Communication by managing all administrative and reporting procedures associated with key performance and result Indicators of the Section, and participating in various meetings (Council, internal and external Forums), and providing advice, comments, and opinions on matters affecting or concerning the functionality of the Section.

NOTICE OF CLOSURE Office For Building Plan Submission

Submission of building plan applications for this year (2025) will officially close on 5 December 2025 at 1hOO, afternoon.

Building plan applications will reopen on 5 January 2026 normal times for submitting applications. However, the Office of Building Control will be open for the following functions:

  • Mandatory building inspections according to Regulation A22 in SANS 10400.
  • All amended building plans to issue an occupation certificate must be cleared with the Building Inspector of the Area.
  • Building  related enquiries.
  • Building related complaints.
  • Note, Mandatory Inspections by the appointed Engineer'on Form 2 must be arranged by the client through his/her office.

Ceres Kersmark / Christmas Market: 2025

Each person applying for a stall must complete an application form and also read and familiarise themselves with the Witzenberg Christmas Market stall rules& regulations (on the back of this form), which stipulate what products can be sold. Perdekraal East Windfarm and Witzenberg Municipality will not take responsibility for any loss or inconvenience as a result of not familiarising oneself with the rules & regulations document’s content. Rules & regulations that are not adhered to may result in the removal of the stall without refund.

 

Stall sites will be located between the corner of Voortrekker & Vos Street and the corner of Voortrekker and Cilliers Street. Voortrekker Street will be closed on Saturday from 17:00 to 24:00 and on Sunday from 14:00 to 21:00.Stalls must be set up within an hour after road closure times. Allocated stall numbers will only be given at the Stall registration site (near the stage) on the day of the event and starting only 30 minutes before road closure time.
