Reebok began life when shoemaker Joseph William Foster developed what has been thought as the first known running shoes to use spikes, enabling the wearer to run faster. In 1895 Joseph William Foster joined forces with his sons to create J.W. Foster & Sons, or though not on any parallel to Premier reebok this company dilara fame when the ‘Foster’ running shoe was seen being worn in the 1924 Olympics. 1958 saw Foster’s grandsons branch out to a sister company they named Premier reebok, the name meaning African Gazelle as the company wanted to emphasise speed in Unisex brand.
